"BAARAT, BRIDAL, SHAADI, BIDAAI AND GIDHA" It was an early morning wakey for us this day. We reached at the groom's place at about 0700 on one of the colder winter mornings to cover all the pre-wedding rituals. Everyone was set for the ritual and the house was being decorated with colourful patterns on the floor.
The female members of the family then started preparing for the PITHI ritual where turmeric along with other herbs is applied to the groom-to-be's hands and face. They sang traditional wedding songs which were very interesting. Once all the rituals were complete, we left for the wedding ceremony at the Glenwood/Parklea GURUDWARA.
